Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery, and remove trunk contents.
- Remove rear seat cushion and backrest along with any trim panels that cover the divider area.
- Inspect the existing divider and surrounding structure; mark spot-weld locations and corrosion boundaries.
- Use a spot-weld cutter or drill to remove factory spot welds and an angle grinder to cut away rusted or damaged metal.
- Clean and prep mating surfaces by grinding to bare metal; treat any remaining rust with rust inhibitor.
- Test-fit the new divider panel, making small adjustments as necessary for alignment and fitment.
- Clamp the panel in place and secure with temporary fasteners (clecos or sheet-metal screws) to verify gaps and fit.
- Weld the panel in place following factory seam locations—use plug or spot welds where appropriate; avoid warping by welding in short, alternating stitches.
- Grind welds smooth, apply seam sealer to all joints and overlaps, then prime and paint the repaired area to prevent corrosion.
- Reinstall interior trim, rear seat components, and trunk items. Reconnect the battery and verify fit and finish.
