The Precision Rain Sensor Pad Kit RSK-1845 is a replacement mounting and damping pad designed to restore and maintain windshield rain-sensor performance. It provides a secure, vibration-damped interface between the sensor and glass to improve detection accuracy, reduce false activations, and protect the sensor assembly from moisture intrusion and wear. Durable, weather-resistant materials ensure long-term reliability and simple installation for restoration or routine maintenance of rain-sensing systems.
Features:
- Universal replacement pad designed for restoring rain-sensor mounting and detection accuracy on compatible vehicles.
- Made from weather-resistant, vibration-damping materials to reduce false triggers and sensor chatter.
- Secures and aligns the rain sensor to the windshield for reliable precipitation detection.
- Helps protect the sensor from moisture ingress and surface abrasion for longer service life.
- Simple fitment and adhesive mounting make this kit ideal for sensor maintenance and restoration.
- Robust construction ensures dependable performance in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 20-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, turn ignition off, and if desired, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent sensor activation during work.
- Access the rain sensor assembly by removing any trim or sensor cover per the vehicle’s service guidelines.
- Carefully disconnect the sensor electrical connector and set aside the sensor in a clean area.
- Remove the old pad and adhesive from the windshield and sensor base using a plastic scraper or razor blade; clean surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Dry-fit the new pad on the windshield and sensor to confirm alignment; use masking tape or the kit’s alignment guide if provided.
- Peel backing from the replacement pad’s adhesive (or apply supplied mounting material) and press the pad firmly into position on the windshield, ensuring proper sensor sightline.
- Reattach the sensor to the pad, reconnect the electrical connector, and reinstall any trim or covers removed earlier.
- Reconnect the battery (if disconnected), start the vehicle, and verify sensor operation according to the vehicle’s system checks or by testing with light misting to confirm proper sensitivity.
