Universal-fit spring perch with integrated bushing designed for 1960–1980 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury passenger cars and light trucks. This replacement spring perch secures and aligns coil/leaf spring assemblies to the vehicle frame or axle, isolating vibration and preventing metal-to-metal wear. Constructed for long-term durability, the perch restores correct spring positioning and improves ride stability and steering response. It’s ideal for restoration projects or routine suspension maintenance, offering a reliable, easy-to-install solution that reduces noise and prolongs suspension component life.
Features:
- Fits 1960-1980 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury passenger cars and light trucks.
- Durable steel construction resists corrosion and deformation under load.
- Integrated rubber bushing cushions suspension, reduces vibration and noise.
- Restores proper spring alignment to improve ride quality and handling.
- Direct-replacement design for restoration or maintenance applications, simple swap-in fit.
- Precision-formed for consistent positioning and long-term reliability.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and chock wheels. Loosen wheel lug nuts if removing wheels.
- Raise vehicle with jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove wheel(s) if necessary to access the spring perch.
- If applicable, relieve load on the spring: for coil springs use a spring compressor; for leaf springs support the axle with a jack and remove suspension fasteners as required.
- Apply penetrating oil to fasteners and mounting surfaces to ease removal.
- Remove retaining bolts, brackets or clamps holding the old spring perch in place. Carefully remove the old perch and bushing.
- Inspect surrounding suspension components (springs, bolts, brackets) and clean mounting surfaces of rust, debris and old lubricant.
- Position the new spring perch with bushing on the mount. Align bolt holes and hand-thread fasteners to hold it in place.
- Torque fasteners to manufacturer specifications. If the perch interfaces with a spring, slowly reapply spring load (release compressor or lower axle) ensuring the spring seats correctly on the new perch.
- Reinstall any removed components and wheels. Lower vehicle to the ground and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Test drive at low speed to confirm proper seating and listen for unusual noises. Recheck fastener torque after a short road test.
