Direct-fit inner tie rod end for 2005-2010 Ford Mustang (V6 and V8 models). This replacement inner tie rod restores precise steering linkage connection between the steering rack and outer tie rod, helping maintain accurate wheel alignment, predictable steering response, and even tire wear. Built for durability and dependable performance, it resists wear from road vibration and repeated steering loads while offering a straightforward install for routine suspension restoration or maintenance.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct replacement for 2005-2010 Ford Mustang (both right and left inner tie rod positions).
  • Constructed from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Maintains steering alignment and reduces play for improved handling and tire life.
  • Precision-threaded end and durable ball joint ensure smooth articulation and reliable steering feel.
  • Designed for easy installation — ideal for restoration or routine suspension repairs.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side (depending on experience and tools)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Open-end or adjustable wrenches
  • Tie rod removal tool or pickle fork
  • Inner tie rod tool (socket or wrench specific to inner rod)
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Grease (if applicable) and replacement boot clamps
  • Penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, set parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen lug nuts on the front wheel, then lift the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the tie rod assembly and spray penetrating oil on fasteners and threads if corroded.
  4. Loosen the outer tie rod jam nut that secures the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod and mark the position or count turns for reference to preserve alignment.
  5. Separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod removal tool or pickle fork. Do not damage the boot if reusing.
  6. Remove any clamps or fasteners and slide back the steering rack boot to expose the inner tie rod end.
  7. Use the appropriate inner tie rod tool to unthread and remove the old inner tie rod from the steering rack.
  8. Compare the new inner tie rod to the old unit to confirm correct part and orientation.
  9. Thread the new inner tie rod into the steering rack by hand, then tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque with a torque wrench. If torque specs are not available, consult the factory service manual.
  10. Reposition and secure the steering rack boot with new clamps if provided or required.
  11. Reattach the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle, tighten the jam nut to secure steering geometry (use the marked position or turn count as a guide).
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to the manufacturer's specification.
  13. Because replacing inner tie rods can change alignment, take the vehicle to a qualified shop for a professional wheel alignment immediately after installation.
