Direct-fit inner tie rod end for 2015–2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles (right or left hand, vehicles built to 2/20/2016; excludes Raptor). This precision-machined steering component secures the inner end of the tie rod to the steering rack, maintaining correct steering geometry and responsive handling. Built from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant coating and a low-friction ball stud/boot assembly, it restores factory steering feel, reduces play, and resists premature wear. Ideal for replacement during suspension or steering repairs, it offers reliable fitment and long-lasting performance.
Features:
  • Fitment: 2015–2020 Ford and Lincoln (inner tie rod end, right or left hand; vehicles built to 2/20/2016; excludes Raptor)
  • Manufactured from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant finish for durability
  • Sealed ball joint and protective boot reduce contamination and extend service life
  • Restores steering precision by eliminating play in the rack-to-tie-rod connection
  • Direct replacement for worn or damaged inner tie rods — ideal for restorations and routine maintenance
  • Threaded end available in left- or right-hand configuration for correct factory fitment
  • Easy-to-install design works with common hand tools; re-alignment recommended after installation
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands or lift
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Open-end wrenches
  • Tie rod removal tool or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Measuring tape or caliper
  • Penetrating oil
  • Shop rags and grease
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise front of vehicle with jack and secure on jack stands. Remove front wheel to access tie rod assembly.
  3. Locate the inner tie rod (connection between steering rack and outer tie rod). Apply penetrating oil to fasteners and threads if needed.
  4. Loosen and back off the outer tie rod jam/lock nut from the outer tie rod end a few turns.
  5. Separate the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod removal tool or pickle fork. Remove the cotter pin and castellated nut if equipped.
  6. Count the number of turns or measure the exposed length of the outer tie rod from a reference point to preserve alignment, then unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.
  7. Access the inner tie rod connection at the steering rack. Remove any retaining clips or boots that cover the inner tie rod end.
  8. Unscrew the inner tie rod from the steering rack using the appropriate inner tie rod tool or adjustable wrench. Remove the old inner tie rod.
  9. Compare new part to old unit for correct thread direction (left- or right-hand) and length. Apply a small amount of grease to the ball stud if specified.
  10. Install the new inner tie rod by threading it into the steering rack to the factory specification. Tighten to specified torque using a torque wrench.
  11. Reinstall boot and retaining clip(s). Thread outer tie rod back onto the new inner tie rod to the previously recorded length or number of turns, then tighten the outer tie rod jam/lock nut to secure.
  12. Reconnect outer tie rod end to steering knuckle, install nut and cotter pin if applicable, and torque to factory spec.
  13. Reinstall wheel, lower vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  14. Have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure correct steering geometry and tire wear.
