Front lower control arm engineered as a direct replacement for 1966–1967 Ford and Mercury passenger vehicles. This control arm secures the front suspension lower joint and maintains correct wheel alignment and suspension geometry. Built from stamped steel with reinforced mounting points and a durable finish, it restores handling, reduces play and vibration, and returns your classic car to safe, reliable operation. Designed for straightforward bolt-on replacement to support restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1966–1967 Ford and Mercury models — front lower control arm, available for right or left hand application.
  • Stamped steel construction with reinforced mounting points for long-lasting strength.
  • Restores proper suspension geometry to improve steering response and tire wear.
  • Direct OE-style replacement for easy fitment without modification.
  • Powder-coated or corrosion-resistant finish to withstand road exposure.
  • Helps reduce vibration, play, and premature wear in steering and suspension components.
  • Ideal for restoration projects or routine suspension maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Hydraulic jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Combination wrenches
  • Breaker bar
  • Torque wrench
  • Ball joint separator or pickle fork
  • Pry bar
  • Rubber mallet or hammer
  • Penetrating oil
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, apply parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift the vehicle with a jack, and secure on jack stands.
  3. Remove the front wheel to access the control arm.
  4. Spray fasteners with penetrating oil and allow to soak if corroded.
  5. Support the lower control arm with a jack or jack stand under the lower suspension to prevent sudden movement.
  6. Remove the nut and bolt attaching the ball joint to the steering knuckle; use a ball joint separator if necessary to separate the joint.
  7. Remove nuts/bolts securing the control arm to the frame or subframe mounts and remove the old control arm.
  8. Compare the new control arm to the old unit to confirm orientation (right vs left) and correct hardware.
  9. Position the new control arm and loosely install mounting bolts to hold it in place.
  10. Reconnect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and install the retaining nut (do not fully torque until vehicle is at ride height unless specified by vehicle manual).
  11. Tighten all mounting hardware to manufacturer torque specifications using a torque wrench.
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  13. Test drive at low speed to verify proper operation; have alignment checked and adjusted by a shop if needed.
