Direct-fit rear window weatherstrip for 1969-1970 Ford Mustang Fastback models. This seal secures and cushions the rear glass while working with the chrome trim that inserts into body clips (WCR DB4120), preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and trim movement. Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, it restores factory fit and finish for restorations or maintenance projects and offers long-lasting reliability with straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1969-1970 Ford Mustang Fastback models (rear window).
- Compatible with chrome trim that inserts into body clips (WCR DB4120).
- Premium weather-resistant rubber compound resists UV, ozone, and deterioration.
- Seals rear glass to prevent leaks, wind noise, and trim vibration.
- Restoration-grade replacement restores factory fit and appearance.
- Easy to install and aligns with original body clips for a secure fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and work in shade; remove rear glass trim if present per vehicle service procedure.
- Carefully pry out the old weatherstrip and chrome trim (if still installed) using a trim tool to avoid damaging paint or clips.
- Remove any old adhesive, dirt, and rust from the seal channel; clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a rag.
- Inspect body clips and retainers; replace any broken clips before installing the new seal.
- Lightly lubricate the new weatherstrip channel with silicone spray or soapy water to ease installation.
- Position the seal at the top center of the opening and work outward and downward, pressing the seal lip into the body channel and over the clips.
- Ensure the portion that accepts the chrome trim aligns with the clip locations (WCR DB4120 style) and seats fully into the channel.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by pressing it into the trim-receiving edge of the new weatherstrip until all clips engage.
- Wipe away excess lubricant, inspect the seal for gaps or twists, and adjust as needed for a uniform fit.
- Allow any remaining moisture to dry and test for leaks by gently spraying water around the rear window to confirm a proper seal.
