Instructions:
- Prepare the work area: park on level ground, protect painted surfaces with masking tape where tools may contact the body.
- Remove interior trim panels or weatherstrips that obstruct access to the rear window molding using a trim tool or flat screwdriver.
- Carefully pry the old molding out enough to access the existing clips; remove old or damaged clips by pulling them out or prying them free with pliers or a screwdriver.
- Clean the molding channel and clip mounting holes of dirt, rust, and adhesive residue; apply light penetrating oil or rust inhibitor if needed and wipe dry.
- Position the new clips onto the vehicle body or onto the molding edge in the correct orientation — clip profile should align with the channel and mounting holes.
- Align the molding with the window and press it into the new clips until each clip seats with an audible click or feels secure. Work along the length to avoid distortion.
- Reinstall any trim panels or weatherstrips removed earlier, ensuring edges sit flush and clips hold the molding firmly.
- Inspect the fit: check for gaps, secure retention, and proper alignment. Adjust clips or molding as needed and test for rattles by gently tapping the trim.
