This 20-piece molding clip kit is designed to restore and secure the windshield molding on 1964-1968 Ford Mustang models. Each OEM-style clip replaces worn or broken fasteners to realign and retain the windshield trim, preventing wind noise, water intrusion, and trim damage. Made for durable, corrosion-resistant performance, the set offers a reliable and easy-to-install solution for restoration projects or routine maintenance, ensuring a factory-fit appearance and long-lasting hold.
Features:
- Fitment: 1964-1968 Ford Mustang — windshield molding clips, 20-piece set.
- OEM-style replacement clips for proper trim alignment and secure attachment.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel construction for long life.
- Prevents wind noise, water leaks, and trim damage by ensuring a tight fit.
- Easy to install for restoration or maintenance — ideal for concours or daily drivers.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, apply parking brake, and protect surrounding paint with masking tape where you will pry.
- Carefully remove the windshield molding by prying gently with a plastic trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver, working slowly to avoid bending the trim.
- Remove any old or broken clips from the vehicle pinch weld or molding channel using needle-nose pliers. Discard damaged clips.
- Clean the clip mounting area and trim channel with a rag and mild solvent to remove dirt, adhesive, or rust that could prevent proper seating.
- Position the new clips on the pinch weld or at the specified locations along the molding channel. Ensure clips are oriented correctly for the molding profile.
- If clips are push-in style, press them firmly until they snap into place. If they slide or hook, align and engage according to the clip shape until secure.
- Reinstall the windshield molding by aligning it with the clips and pressing evenly along the length to seat the molding into each clip. Use soapy water or light lubricant if needed to ease installation.
- Inspect the trim for even fitment and confirm all clips are engaged. Make minor adjustments as needed to eliminate gaps or misalignment.
- Allow any lubricant to dry and remove protective tape. Test for wind noise and water-tightness after a short drive or water check.
