This manual steering gear box is made with new tooling for the highest quality standards, offering an exact fit. It is a brand new unit, not rebuilt. Each gear box comes with a 1-1/8" diameter sector shaft/output shaft, for vehicles with full manual steering, or power assist, or Tag SMB-K, or SMB-F. This is a brand new unit, so there is NO CORE CHARGE required! Steering coupler, part # 7806391 is sold separately.
Fitment Note: This gear box fits cars with either full manual steering, or power-assist steering systems that use a ram cylinder and control valve to assist the manual gear box. Not designed for vehicles that have power steering lines that run directly into the gear box.
Steering Gear Box Specs:**Note: Late 1967 through 1970 are the short shaft style. There is a coupler between the box and the steering shaft. This change was made in late 1967 production models due to new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) which required a collapsible steering column.
