Direct-fit front sway bar link designed for 1978–1993 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and compatible Nissan models. This linkage secures the anti-roll bar to the suspension, restoring proper roll control and steering stability. Built to resist wear and corrosion, it reduces sway, eliminates clunking noises from worn links, and improves handling response. Durable construction and straightforward replacement make it ideal for maintenance, restoration, or performance-oriented repairs.
Features:
  • Fits 1978-1993 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and select Nissan models (front, right or left hand application).
  • High-strength metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Replaces worn or damaged sway bar links to restore steering stability and reduce body roll.
  • Helps eliminate suspension noise and improves vehicle handling and ride confidence.
  • Direct-replacement design for easy fitment during maintenance or restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • floor jack
  • jack stands
  • socket set (metric & SAE)
  • ratchet
  • wrenches
  • torque wrench
  • penetrating oil
  • safety glasses
  • work gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and secure on jack stands; remove the front wheel to access the sway bar link.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to the sway bar link fasteners if corroded and allow it to soak.
  4. Use the appropriate sockets/wrenches to remove the nut(s) securing the sway bar link at the sway bar and control arm/strut. Hold the link stud with a wrench if needed to prevent spinning.
  5. Remove the old sway bar link and compare to the new part to confirm orientation (right/left hand as required).
  6. Install the new sway bar link into position and hand-thread the mounting nuts to avoid cross-threading.
  7. Tighten the mounting hardware to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque using a torque wrench.
  8. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  9. Test drive at low speed to confirm there are no unusual noises and that handling feels correct. Re-check torque on hardware after initial road test.
