- Restores proper steering alignment and eliminates play for crisper steering response.
- Protective finish resists rust and road corrosion to extend component lifespan.
- Direct replacement design for quick installation—no modification required.
- Ideal for restoration, maintenance, and performance upgrades to original steering systems.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, chock rear wheels, loosen front lug nuts, raise vehicle and secure on jack stands. Remove front wheels.
- Apply penetrating oil to nuts and bolts on the center link, idler arm, pitman arm, and tie rod ends; allow to soak.
- Remove cotter pins and castle nuts from the outer tie rod ends and idler/pitman arm studs connected to the center link.
- Separate tie rod ends and pitman/ idler arm connections from the center link using a ball joint separator or puller. Use caution to avoid damaging surrounding components.
- Remove mounting hardware securing the center link to the chassis/idler arm and pitman arm. Retain any reusable hardware or replace with new hardware as recommended.
- Compare new center link to the old unit to ensure correct orientation and fitment. Transfer any grease fittings if applicable.
- Install the new center link in reverse order: mount to pitman arm and idler arm, then attach tie rod ends. Hand-start all fasteners.
- Tighten fasteners to factory torque specifications using a torque wrench. Install new cotter pins where applicable.
- Reinstall wheels, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and road-test at low speed to confirm steering operation. Have an alignment performed if steering pull or tire wear is present.
