Front lower ball joint for 2005–2009 Ford Mustang (both right and left sides). This direct-fit replacement secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, providing precise suspension articulation and reliable wheel alignment under driving loads. Engineered for durability with a corrosion-resistant finish and a protective rubber boot, the unit reduces play and vibration while restoring safe steering feel and predictable handling. Ideal for maintenance and suspension restoration projects, the part installs like the original to return proper suspension geometry and extend tire life.
Features:
  • Fits 2005-2009 Ford Mustang — front lower, both right (passenger) and left (driver) sides
  • Direct-fit replacement designed to match OE dimensions and restore correct suspension geometry
  • Sealed ball joint with protective rubber boot to keep out dirt and moisture
  • Corrosion-resistant finish for long service life and dependable performance
  • Reduces steering play, vibration, and uneven tire wear — ideal for suspension restoration
  • Simple swap for worn or damaged joints during routine maintenance or repair
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-90 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Socket and wrench set
  • Ball joint separator or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Hammer
  • Pliers
  • Penetrating oil
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Bench vise or press (if required for removal/installation)
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, apply parking brake, loosen front lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise vehicle with a floor jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Inspect and spray the ball joint fasteners with penetrating oil to ease removal.
  4. Remove any components blocking access (cotter pin, castle nut, or axle nut as applicable).
  5. Use a ball joint separator or pickle fork to separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle.
  6. Unbolt the ball joint from the lower control arm. In some cases the joint may be pressed in — use a press or bench vise if necessary.
  7. Clean mounting surfaces on the control arm and knuckle. Compare the new joint to the old for correct orientation.
  8. Install the new ball joint into the control arm. If press-fit, use a press or appropriate driver to seat it fully without damaging the boot.
  9. Reattach the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to the manufacturer’s torque specification. Install a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Reinstall any removed components, remount the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to spec.
  11. Take the vehicle for a short test drive and verify proper steering and suspension operation. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation.
