A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip engineered for 1969-1970 Ford Mustang Coupe models. This precision-profile seal replaces aged or damaged rubber to restore the factory fit between the rear glass and body, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and interior damage. Made from a resilient EPDM rubber compound with a reinforced insert, the seal is designed to work with chrome trim that inserts into body clips (WCR DB4125). Durable, UV-resistant, and simple to install, it provides reliable sealing performance and helps return your Mustang’s rear window to correct, factory-style alignment.
Features:
- Fits 1969-1970 Ford Mustang Coupe models (rear window application).
- Constructed from high-quality EPDM rubber with a reinforced insert for long-lasting durability and weather resistance.
- Seals rear glass to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim and upholstery.
- Works with chrome molding that inserts into body clips (WCR DB4125) for correct trim integration.
- Easy to install as a direct replacement — ideal for restoration, maintenance, or repair projects.
- Restores factory fit and appearance while resisting UV, ozone, and temperature-related deterioration.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Remove interior rear package trim and any fasteners or screws that retain the chrome molding and access the weatherstrip channel.
- Carefully pry off the chrome trim molding where required and set trim/fasteners aside; remove old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with rags and isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue; inspect and replace any broken body clips (WCR DB4125) if needed.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip against the glass and channel to confirm correct orientation (bulb toward the body, sealing lip toward the glass).
- If desired, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel per adhesive instructions to help retain the seal during installation.
- Starting at the top center of the opening, press the new weatherstrip into the channel and work outward and downward in small sections, seating the seal fully into the channel; use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently tap the seal into place without stretching.
- Reinstall the chrome molding, ensuring the molding insert seats into the body clips (WCR DB4125) and engages the weatherstrip correctly.
- Reinstall interior trim panels and fasteners. Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions, then test with water to confirm a leak-free seal and make adjustments if necessary.
