Premium rear sway bar link designed to replace worn or damaged links on 1996–2014 Ford and Mercury vehicles. This direct-fit right/left hand link features a large-end bushing with a 13.5mm ID to ensure correct mounting and quiet operation. It secures the stabilizer bar to the suspension, reducing body roll, improving handling and steering response, and preventing premature wear of related suspension components. Constructed for durability and reliable performance, it’s an ideal part for routine maintenance, restoration projects, or performance-oriented repairs.
Features:
- Fits 1996–2014 Ford and Mercury rear suspension (right or left hand applications).
- Large-end bushing with 13.5mm inner diameter for OEM-style fitment and proper articulation.
- High-strength metal shaft and corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Secures the rear sway (stabilizer) bar to the suspension to reduce body roll and improve handling.
- Precision-fit replacement helps eliminate noise and vibration from worn links.
- Easy bolt-on replacement for restoration or routine suspension maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and place wheel chocks.
- Loosen rear wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the wheel for access.
- Locate the rear sway bar link connecting the sway bar to the control arm or strut; apply penetrating oil to mounting bolts if corroded.
- Use appropriate wrenches or sockets to hold the stud and remove the upper and lower mounting nuts/bolts while supporting the sway bar to prevent it from dropping.
- Remove the old sway bar link and compare with the replacement to confirm correct orientation and bushing size (13.5mm ID at the large end).
- Install the new link in the same orientation as the old unit; thread the mounting bolts/nuts by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten mounting hardware to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque using a torque wrench.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
- Test drive at low speed to confirm normal handling and absence of clunking or vibration; recheck hardware torque after short drive.
