Inner tie rod end (right/left hand) for 2015–2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles. This precision-steered steering component connects the inner section of the steering rack to the outer tie rod, ensuring accurate wheel alignment and responsive steering. Designed as a direct replacement part for worn or damaged factory components, it restores steering feel, reduces play, and helps prevent uneven tire wear. Built from corrosion-resistant materials with a robust ball joint and protective boot, it delivers long-lasting reliability and straightforward installation for routine maintenance or full front-end restoration.
Features:
- Fits 2015–2021 Ford and Lincoln models (inner tie rod end, right or left hand).
- Direct-fit replacement designed to restore proper steering geometry and reduce play.
- Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for extended life.
- Sealed ball joint and protective boot to keep out dirt and moisture.
- Helps prevent uneven tire wear and improves steering responsiveness.
- Simple installation for most technicians and DIYers—no steering rack removal on many applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift vehicle with jack, and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod end on the steering rack and mark the position of the outer tie rod on the inner threads to preserve alignment.
- Loosen the lock nut on the outer tie rod and separate the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod using a tie rod end puller or pickle fork. Remove the outer tie rod from the inner assembly.
- Remove any retaining clamps or boots and unscrew the inner tie rod from the steering rack using the appropriate inner tie rod tool or wrench.
- Compare new part to removed part to confirm correct orientation (right or left hand) and thread size.
- Thread the new inner tie rod into the steering rack to the noted position, hand-tighten, then torque to vehicle manufacturer specifications.
- Reattach the outer tie rod and tighten the lock nut to secure the measured alignment position. Install any boots or clamps and apply grease if the part is serviceable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Because thread-based tie rod replacement can alter toe alignment, have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation.
