Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Lift front of vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheels for better access if necessary.
- Apply penetrating oil to nuts and bolts on the pitman arm, idler arm, and tie rod ends. Loosen but do not remove them initially.
- Use a pitman arm puller to separate the pitman arm from the center link. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate tie rod ends from the center link and idler arm connections.
- Support the center link and remove the mounting fasteners attaching it to the idler arm and pitman arm. Remove the old center link from the vehicle.
- Compare the new center link to the old one to confirm correct orientation and hardware compatibility. Transfer any required bushings or hardware if needed.
- Install the new center link into position and hand-thread mounting fasteners. Reattach pitman arm and idler arm connections.
- Torque all fasteners and nut/bolt connections to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications using a torque wrench.
- Reinstall any components removed and lower the vehicle. Tighten wheel lug nuts to spec if wheels were removed.
- Perform a basic steering check and take the vehicle for a short test drive to confirm proper steering response. Have a professional alignment performed if necessary.
